I checked the trap this morning and the mouse had taken the bait, but the trap didn't snap. I'm hoping that I'm better a catching mice than catching fish, but so far, that is not the case.
YUCK! We had mice when we lived in SLC and besides eating holes through things and leaving wrappers all over, they even had the audacity to poop on my mothers quilt! I HATE mice. I am sorry you have them.
If mice are so small then why are they so scary? Really I think it's because I fear Haunta Virus. We had mice in our garage. I almost died! We got humane traps so we could set them free in a field somewhere but I think that being trapped caused too much caridac stress because they both died. Which made me sick to think of the poor things dying like that. I think there is still some lerking around. Jon says they're gone.
The pest guy (exterminator) that I use at work (real estate stuff) says to put a few mothballs near places they're (probably) coming in. Since mothballs are toxic you'd need to be really careful. I think it works if you put them outside (by vents and such) too. I put some in our basement by the vents last year after we had mice and we haven't had any this year. I guess animals HATE the smell. We have a bird (a flicker I think) that has torn the screens off of our vents in the top of our house. He has entered and taken up refuge above our master bathroom. In the mornings he pecks away at our ceiling. I keep waiting for him to fall through! Anyway, the exterminator said to put a few mothballs up there. I think we'll have to try it. In early January after Tim boarded up the first screen the bird came back and messed with ALL the screens in the upper vents. Grrrrr. Anyway, good luck.

Oh no!
BTW, nice use of depth of field.

Oh yuck! I'm sorry. Did you try using peanut butter as the bait? That's what my dad did while I was growing up and it worked pretty well! Good luck!
