Happy New Year everyone! For documentation sake, here is what I look like at 20 weeks. I'm in that slightly awkward phase where I don't quite fit into most of my regular clothes anymore, but I look like I'm wearing a tent in maternity clothes.Thanks for all the guesses on gender... and we have an announcement: it's a girl! Well, we're pretty sure. We have a very modest baby. During the ultrasound she had her legs crossed at one time, her legs tightly together at another, and the umbilical cord between her legs at another time. The tech said she was pretty sure it looked like a girl and pointed out to us what we should be looking for in the ultrasound. It was neat.
Now, on to the name game...

I'm so excited to finally know...maybe. My friend never could find out and she said it must be a girl because boys don't cross their legs. And it was a girl! Both Ben and Sam were definitely boys, I could see before the tech even said anything. How are you feeling these days?

Hurray! Now you can have a daddy's girl and give yourself a break every once in a while :) I think you should name her...Tessa. That was a name we loved, but it didn't go with any middle names, and then we had a boy so it didn't matter. Just an idea.

My oldest little girl just left off to college. Starting out with a girl I've heard is the way to go. I know my girls have helped me be a more kinder, gentler father.

good thing your having a girl now... girl names are running out in the Peterson family!! We have an over-abundance of them!! It must be all the praying for girls done by Gary and Sherri way back when... and it's still coming through now. Maybe... I'm so excited for you guys!!

Congratulations, Britta! I foresee you taking TONS of pictures of your new baby girl, and painting some of them. Girls are so precious--there's something different between them and boys. Maybe that comes from having two boys first, but I just stared and stared at my little girl.
